  25. This is a question without an answer, for two reasons.  First of all, 
  26. this depends on whether you are at it full time or part time. Secondly, 
  27. what is YOUR definition of "Mastering" ?

  29. It took me two years of part time to get as far as I am and I don't 
  30. consider myself an expert by a long shot.  On the other hand, you could 
  31. create your first animation in just weeks from setting up, but don't 
  32. expect great results in any short order.  LW is very powerful and there 
  33. are usually several ways to go about any given project.  If you give it 
  34. some serious study, read this list and other lightwave sources, you can 
  35. expect to be getting marketable results in under a year.  If you have any 
  36. other computer skills that are even remotly related to CG (computer 
  37. Graphics) then perhaps you will learn even quicker ;))
